Full Itinerary

Day 1: Jakarta Arrival

Halo! Welcome to Jakarta – the megalopolis capital of Indonesia. Upon arrival, meet your local guide at the airport and then transfer directly to your hotel for check-in.

Day 2: Jakarta – Bandung

This morning, enjoy a Jakarta city tour. Start the day with a visit to the National Museum – to discover an enormous collection of artifacts telling you the history and cultural heritage of Indonesia from prehistorical day to present. Then proceed to the former Batavia area, a remnant of the colonial past where Jakarta began before it grew to its current size.

In the afternoon, transfer to Bandung. On arrival, experience the angklung orchestra – a unique musical treat with resonating melodies created when children shake bamboo instruments.

Day 3: Bandung – Yogyakarta

Today is a long day of traveling to Yogyakarta. After breakfast, take a scenic train to Yogyakarta and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way.

Day 4: Yogyakarta Discovery

Start the morning of day 4 with a visit to the Prambanan Hindu temple complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is the largest Hindu temple complex in Java. Take your time to view their intricate design, particularly on the Shiva temple and learn about the history of the temples.
In the afternoon, make your way to Borobudur Temple, the largest Buddhist sanctuary in the world and another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here spend your time to marvel at its architecture and learn more about history and restoration.

Day 5: Yogyakarta – Ngadas

Today continue the journey across the agricultural heartland of Java to Ngadas, a village in the scenic Mt Bromo region. On arrival at Ngadas, check-in at Ngadas Homestay. Nestled amidst the green hills of the Mt Bromo region, the village of Ngadas is home to a Tengger farming community. Spend an overnight with a local family participating in the community’s homestay program. Take this chance to learn about the local culture, customs, and traditions of your hosts.

Day 6: Ngadas – Malang

Rise before dawn this morning to take a pre-dawn trek across the “sea of sand” to Mt Bromo and watch the sunrise. After that, head back to Ngadas for lunch before exploring more of the village on an included walk. Later, travel to Malang for the night.

Day 7: Malang – Sanur

Today, drive from Malang to Surabaya airport for a short flight to Sanur. On arrival, join in some interesting activities at the beautiful beach of Sanur and its vibrant town.

Day 8: Sanur Departure
